Daniel Furman is the founder and Managing Director of Arba Finance Company Ltd, a Tel Aviv based merchant banking boutique. Prior to founding ARBA in 1978, Daniel served as the Finance Manager of Aircraft Trading and Services Inc., an international company specializing in trading and leasing commercial aircraft. He was a Senior Consultant for National Consultants (Israel); a member of the Corporate Finance Department of Eurofinance in Paris, specializing in cross-border M&A; and an assistant to the Vice President of Corporate Planning at Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd.
Daniel is the Chairman of AmeriTree a Mutual Funds management company established in 2024, a co-managing director of SARL Palais de la Promenade, a real estate company in France and a director of Los Furman SA an agricultural enterprise in Argentina. He was a director of the First International Bank of Israel (2004-2010 and 2014-2020); of the Frankfurt listed Orad Hi-Tec Systems (2005-2015) and of the Stockholm listed Pricer AB (2004-2010), Between 1993 and 2000, Daniel served as a Director and Member of the Investment Committee of Ilanot-Batucha, then one of Israel's leading mutual fund management companies.
Daniel holds a B.A.in Economics and Statistics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and an M.B.A. from INSEAD.
Daniel is a Governor of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was a member of its Board of Managers (2011-2020) and the Chairman of its Endowment Funds Committee (2010-2021). He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the INSEAD Israel.
Ilan is a director in Arba since 2022.
Over the past 2 years, in close collaboration with Bridgewise, Ilan developed an investment strategy in publicly listed securities combining his past investment experience with AI and machine learning.
For over 10 years, Ilan was an investment manager within the Global Emerging Markets team and a lead portfolio manager of Threadneedle Latin America fund. The team managed $10 billion in top Morningstar-ranked funds, while the house managed $ 700 billion.
During his time in CTI, Ilan was also a regular contributor to asset allocation meetings and a member of the leadership and innovation committees.
Before joining Columbia Threadneedle Investments, he worked as an investment manager at Pictet. He has also been employed at Deloitte as a consultant and at Oscar Gruss as a junior analyst.
Ilan has an Economics degree from Ben Gurion University in Israel and an MBA from Imperial College, London. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Carl H. Kaplan has served as in-house legal counsel to Arba since 1992. Previously he was a consultant to Claridge Israel Inc.
He is the Founder and first Managing Director of KIEDF, a philanthropic fund that provides financial assistance (nearly US $500 Million to date) to small and micro businesses throughout Israel. Following the success of the program, Carl was asked to advise a European country on setting up a similar program. He continues as the senior consultant to KIEDF.
Prior to moving to Israel in 1990, he was a partner in Goldklang, Silvers & Co. Inc., a Wall Street investment and merchant-banking firm that specialized in capital formation and joint-venture relationships.
Carl is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his professional experience includes several years of business and legal practice in Washington, D.C. He is a former National Chairman of the United Jewish Appeal Young Leadership Cabinet (1984).
Nir joined Arba in 1999 as a Vice President overseeing Venture Capital. Since 2018, he has been a partner and the CEO of Arba Capital Markets Ltd., Israel’s representative of Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a prominent international asset management firm.
Throughout his career at Arba, Nir has held operational positions in portfolio companies, primarily focusing on business development and financial management. He has gained extensive experience in various markets, including media and entertainment, augmented reality, mobile messaging and enterprise software. Notably, he was a member of the board of TeleMessage Ltd. from 2018 until its acquisition by Smarsh in 2024.
Prior to Arba, Nir served as a Senior Financial and Information System Analyst for Clal Finance, one of Israel’s leading investment firms. Before that, he worked as an Economist and Programmer for Economic Models Ltd., a prominent Israeli macroeconomic research and large account valuation company.
Nir holds two magna cum laude degrees from Tel Aviv University: an MBA in Finance in 1997 and a B.A. in Computer Science and Economics in 1994. He served as an officer in the Military Intelligence Unit of the Israeli Defense Forces for four years. Additionally, he completed the Program for Management Development (PMD) at the Harvard Business School in 2003.
From 2011 to 2016, Nir was elected as a member and later as a Vice President of the HBS Alumni Board. Since 2019, he has been the Co-President of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Israel.
Horacio Furman is the Chairman and CEO of the private equity investment company Prideway Holdings Ltd. He has been also deeply involved in developing new markets for manufacturers of high tech telecom equipment technologies through Estevan International, Inc., a telecommunications equipment marketing company.
Horacio is the chairman of the board of Messaging International Plc and board member of BMR Plc, both AIM listed companies.
He was previously Executive Vice President for Projects at UDI, Inc. in charge of the China operations where he pioneered large joint ventures between leading international companies and Chinese counterparts. Prior to that, he held positions in Production and Marketing at ISCAR, Ltd.
Horacio holds a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Material Engineering from the Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology, and an MBA from INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Administration in Fontainebleau, France.
Liora joined Arba in 1985, as the executive assistant to the CEO and has been for many years administrative manager of Arba. She is also responsible for the financial management of portfolio companies in their early stages. Liora also assists with the philanthropic initiatives of the Arba team.
Liora earned a BA in Economics from the Tel Aviv University in 1985. She is fluent in Hebrew and English.
